This script adds up all the values in the column of a table that is formatted in markdown or for a wiki. Your table must have a header row, and there can be no row or column spans.

A table would look like this:

|Date|Client|Paid|
|1/23|Joe|$200|
|2/04|Sally|$150|

This script will strip out the $ character (if it is present before the number) but any other non-numeric characters in the same table cell other than spaces will result in an error.

How many pipes before the column you want to add up? (Or rather, which column number are you adding up?) In the above example, you would enter "3":
